Terrie’s Bio

Terrie Dort comes to the real estate industry after a successful 15-year career as the President of a major trade association in Washington, D.C. – the National Council of Chain Restaurants. As the leader of this industry group, Terrie represented the restaurants as a lobbyist on Capitol Hill and was an advocate for their positions before Congress as well as the White House and Administration. During this time she gained experience and expertise as both a strong industry leader and manager of organizations and staff.

It is that unique experience that Terrie brings with her as she represents her real estate clients here in Virginia’s Northern Neck and the Middle Peninsula. In today’s fast-paced, highly competitive, and technology-driven real estate environment this knowledge is crucial to helping clients weave through the many complexities of any real estate deal. And in this market you need someone on your side with the real world business experience to deal with the myriad of players that can be involved in the deal. Whether it be the buyers or the sellers or their bankers or lawyers, Terrie has the knowledge and savvy to work through the deal.

Terrie received her Masters in International Business from George Washington University. She attended undergraduate school at University of Mary Washington where she received her BA. She currently holds an ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation and is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Virginia Association of Realtors.

In addition to her many U.S. clients, Terrie has affiliations with several international groups and owns property in France and is fluent in French.

Terrie resides in Irvington, Virginia with her husband, Dean and small dog, Kirov. When she is not working she enjoys playing tennis and working with the local animal shelters on animal rescue.
